Arabic is like English in a way. We learned traditional English from reading novels and grammar, but then you learn the American dialect which almost everyone speaks it. So if you want to learn Arabic, start with the normal traditional way, letters names...etc, then when you're comfortable pick a dialect, and it's a known fact in the east that the Egyptian dialect is the easiest to learn.
